How to use a printable password log safely
The Daily Print Project has a printable password manager template PDF for account names, usernames, password hints, and recovery notes. It works best as an offline account inventory and household reference sheet.
A printed password log is not the same as encrypted password manager software. Use hints instead of full passwords when possible, avoid exposing sensitive financial or medical passwords in plain text, and keep the finished page in a locked drawer, safe, or secure household file.
Account inventory
Track which accounts exist, where they are used, and who manages them.
Password hints
Write reminders that make sense to you without exposing full passwords.
Recovery notes
Add recovery emails, phone notes, backup codes location, or renewal reminders.
Household backup
Keep private reference details available for trusted family paperwork planning.
Setup checklist
- Download and print a blank password manager template PDF.
- List account names, usernames, hints, and recovery notes.
- Group accounts by email, utilities, subscriptions, banking, shopping, devices, and home services.
- Avoid writing full sensitive passwords unless the page will be stored securely.
- Review the account log every few months and remove old accounts.
Treat a completed password tracker like private paperwork. It should not sit in an open drawer or on a desk where guests or workers can see it.
